Film Production Behind the Scenes Stills
“Ok, everybody pretend like you’re having fun,” said Cristie Williams with tongue squarely in cheek. And, so, another day passes in the life of photographer and video production assistant, Cristie Williams. “I want to make the person in front of the camera, and behind it, to feel as comfortable as possible — no matter what we’re shooting. The best way I know to do that is with a laugh and a smile.” Cristie has spent years in the photo and video industries honing her skills and natural talent on every project she collaborates on. “I started as a photo retoucher for a photographer then suddenly found myself shooting first and retouching later,” said Cristie. “It definitely is a lot more fun and challenging.” Cristie’s work as a photographer and as a production coordinator on corporate and fashion video shoots has given her a healthy appreciation and respect for the creativity that thrives in Houston. “There’s always such an awesome energy on the set. Everyone is a specialist at what they do but we are all of the same mind in achieving the vision of the client.” When Cristie isn’t behind the camera, you can usually find her indulging in her three passions: fashion, food and travel. “I love to eat and cook! To me, a crème brulee should look as good as it tastes. Well, shouldn’t it? I like to express creativity in everything I do — from how I dress to where I travel — I want to feel inspired and happy.” But we know Cristie is happiest when she’s on the set either shooting talent with her trusty Canon or collaborating on a video project. “I love solving problems, finding all the pieces and putting them back together but maybe in a way that’s a little different. I think that’s where creativity begins,” said Cristie. When asked what does success mean to her, Cristie replied, “Success means that I can have an impact on how people see themselves. I think through photography, I can make a difference; change people’s lives.” You already have, Cristie. You already have.
